At Australian Environmental Vertebrate Pest Management Services (AEVPMS), we provide targeted, humane control of invasive deer species across New South Wales. Our operations focus on reducing the environmental, agricultural, and safety impacts of unmanaged deer populations through evidence-based, ISO-certified practices.

Invasive Deer Control – Managing Overabundant Species Ethically and Effectively
Why Deer Are a Problem
While once managed as a recreational species, feral deer are now officially recognised as a priority pest under the NSW Biosecurity Act 2015. With no natural predators in Australia and rapid reproductive rates, deer populations have exploded across rural, peri-urban, and conservation areas.
Feral deer contribute to:
-
Severe damage to native vegetation and waterways through browsing and trampling
-
Destruction of fences, crops, and pasture, reducing farm productivity
-
Vehicle collisions and road safety risks, particularly in peri-urban areas
-
Disruption of ecosystem processes and habitat for native fauna
-
Spread of weeds and disease via dung and hooves
Common species in NSW include Rusa, Fallow, Red, Chital, Sambar, and Hog Deer, often overlapping in mixed populations.
AEVPMS Approach to Deer Management
We deliver strategic Pest Management Plans (PMPs) tailored to each site’s terrain, species present, and risk profile. Our team includes experienced, licensed shooters and wildlife professionals trained in low-disturbance removal techniques.
Our services include:
-
Night-vision and thermal aerial or ground-based control
-
High-calibre, suppressed rifles for accurate, humane shooting
-
Remote monitoring and population tracking
-
Vehicle-mounted and static shooting positions, depending on site
-
Stakeholder coordination, including with councils, catchment groups, and conservation trusts
We are fully compliant with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and pestSMART humane control principles, with full insurance and WHS protocols in place.
