2025 Vertebrate Pest Management Symposium

Our Director has been invited to present a research paper at the 2025 VPM Symposium.

At AEVPMS, we are committed to advancing the science and practice of vertebrate pest management (VPM). Our current research reframes VPM as a socio-technical system, where landholders, regulators, communities, and the environment are interdependent stakeholders.
This work highlights systemic weaknesses in current approaches and identifies opportunities for more resilient, integrated, and sustainable solutions. The research not only informs our own practice but also contributes to the broader goal of improving VPM across Australia.

LAND MANAGEMET

We work with you to protect wildlife, culture, community and your land.

An integrated pest management strategy (IPM) combines biological controls, habitat modification, and targeted interventions. Our approach minimizes disruption to beneficial species, improves habitat health, and reduces long-term reliance on pesticides.

Animal Survey

Using the latest in technology including inferred drones our team can produce animal and pest surveys that can be used to develop Pest Management and Land Management reports for Landowners, Councils, Governments, and researchers.

Human Destruction

Vertebrate pests can devastate the environment and kill native wildlife. Shooting remains the most effective and humane process for clearing land of pests. Our team is licenced, trained, experienced and equipped with the latest technology. Using a network of trail cameras, drones and inferred, our team are highly effective.

Trapping

The use of traps is effective in dense bush land and where access is difficult. Pests are humanely shoot once in the trap. Trapping combined with our GPS trail cameras can mitigate risks in residential areas.

Baiting & Blasting

For some species of pests, shooting is not an option, particularly when trying to cover large areas. An alternative, particularly for rabbits, is den blasting. This process ensures native animals are not affected. Using shock waves, underground dens are collapsed. This is highly effective in residential areas.
